Can we reduce the trash happened though music activity? 音楽活動を通して出るゴミは減らせないのでしょうか？

It always annoys us that we have to throw away “consumables” after use, even though they are necessary in everyday life.We often think “Isn’t this usable yet?” …same as musicians!

必要不可欠なものでありながら、使用後は捨てざるを得ない消耗品は、日々の生活において常に頭を悩ませる問題です。
なぜなら頭のどこかで「使い方によってはまだ使えるんじゃないか？」と考えてしまう からです。ミュージシャンにとっても同様です。

In music activity, wastes include broken sticks, used guitar picks, snapped guitar strings, broken cymbals, dead vacuum tube, metal parts, electronic parts, and more…, we always throw those away, thinking “Mottainai” though. ECO MUSIC tries to recycle those wastes happening along with sound production, and expects the result of music activity under the keyword “FOR OUR EARTH.” As the first step, we completed “durable picks” = ECO PICK. Less abrasion and long-lived picks can reduce the frequency of exchange, and it must reduce the trash as a result. Also, the recycle of resources is realized by using the used PET bottle as the material. Now, trying to find something we can do by using such wastes, many attempts are being made based on various ideas. We hope that such attempts spread to many musicians, and new innovative productions to be realized.

音楽活動における廃棄物としては、 折れたドラムスティック、磨耗したピック、切れた弦、割れたシンバル、寿命の尽きた真空管、金属パーツや、電子部品など数多く挙げられますが、どれも捨てる際に「もったいない」と考えずにいられないものばかりです。エコ・ミュージックでは、新しい音が生まれるたびに増えていくこれらの廃棄物のリサイクル、「地球に優しく」をキーワードに音楽活動に取り組めばどんな結果が出せるかを考えています。最初の取り組みとして「耐久性に優れたピック」＝エコピックを完成させました。磨耗が少なく、寿命の長いピックならば交換の頻度も少なくなり、ゴミが減る結果につながると考えております。そのうえ、廃ペットボトルを素材にしているので資源のリサイクルも実現させました。現在では先に挙げたような廃棄物を使ってできることを、模索しています。まだカタチにはなっていませんが、様々な発想をもとにいくつかの試みが行われています。私達の試みが多くのミュージシャンに伝わり、新しいモノづくりを実現させていければと考えています。
